Our Falmouth Hotel, The Greenbank, is an apt name then for the inspiration for that most famous of aquatic childhood tales featuring Toad, Mole and Rat. Boasting one of the most sensational panoramic waterfront views in England, hours can literally slip by as you follow the yachts slipping quietly out to sea. Even storm clouds gathering over the Bay are dramatic.

In the early nineteenth century the Greenbank was a gentleman’s residence and the bar today recreates that clubby feel with aplomb. Leather armchairs, sofas and colonial décor combine with chandeliers and fig plants to deliver a very laid-back ambience serving unrivalled liquid refreshment. Pre dinner drinks are the perfect prelude to a special dinner in Falmouth’s only restaurant to boast three RAC dining awards, not to mention one of the most creative chefs in Cornwall.

Our Falmouth Hotel is so much more than just somewhere to stay or eat. Life at this stylish bolthole can't help but be influenced by the Fal estuary's many moods. Race nights on the water provide an unrivalled setting to enjoy a chilled glass of Chablis, or a long tall Pimms on the Quarter Deck. Loads of ice, plenty of fruit and a zesty hit of mint. Perfect. As yachts from the Royal Cornwall Yacht club go back and forth, distant fields roll off into the horizon and as the sun starts to set, the gently lapping water begins to shimmer. 

Come Sunday morning and it is the turn of the local gigs to take centre stage. As your thoughts begin to turn to lunch step inside and choose whatever takes your fancy. Then why not spend the afternoon exploring the town's wealth of shops, and then maybe onto one of the three south facing sandy beaches, or a stroll around historic Pendennis Castle before returning to our Falmouth Hotel to kick back and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views.
