The Falmouth Finn Festival
The Falmouth Finn Festival intends to start the party in the West Country to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic Torch and the Olympic Games in 2012.
In the lead up to the Olympic Games, the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club in Falmouth, will host the Finn Open British National Championship from 4 to 8 May and the Finn Gold Cup 11 to 18 May 2012.
The Finn Gold Cup is one of the major competitions in world sailing, demanding the highest standards of race management and onshore facilities for some of the world's finest young sailing talent. Ben Ainslie, Britain's greatest Olympic sailor and three times gold medallist will return to Falmouth to compete in his home waters, having learnt to sail at Restronguet Sailing Club.
4-8 May 2012 Finn Open British National Championship
The annual UK Championship, open to all nationalities, is contested by a fleet of 80 highly skilled competitors with the chance to compete in 2012 against some of the world's best sailors, honing their skills for the Olympic regatta.
11-18 May 2012 Finn Gold Cup
The Gold Cup is the annual World Championship of the Finn Class, with a fleet of 140 boats with the world's best Finn sailors competing.
