UPDATED 22nd MARCH 2020: It is with heavy hearts that The Greenbank will be temporarily closed for an initial period of three months. Safeguarding our team, guests, the local community, and our NHS has always been our number one priority, so after closing our food and beverage operations on 18th March, we feel that the time has now come to fully batten down the hatches. It is our duty to be part of the nationwide solution to stop the spread of Covid-19 and to protect each other. We will constantly review the situation and follow the UK government guidelines as they are announced over the coming weeks. Whilst we cannot confirm when the hotel will re-open, our reception team will be monitoring emails, but this could take up to 7 days for a response so please bear with us. Please email email@example.com to discuss any bookings. Our full statement can be read here.
Breathe in the scent of sizzling bacon as the sun rises. Dive into the freshest seafood as a spring breeze whips across Falmouth bay. Dine on Cornwall’s bounty as the water laps beneath you. This is a restaurant experience to be savoured.
Our two AA rosette-awarded Water’s Edge restaurant offers relaxed fine dining. Executive Chef Nick Hodges and his kitchen team have a simple ethos – to bring local produce to life, with imagination and creativity. We are open every day to non-residents with free parking, daily changing chef recommendations, and a traditional roast on Sundays for all the family. During the day, we serve our all day dining menu as well as a weekly changing two or three course lunch menu priced at £22 or £26. Dinner is served every day from 6.30pm onwards.
Our knowledgeable waiting staff is always on hand to guide you through the day’s specials, while a carefully selected wine list will tempt you with perfectly matched bottles to complement the menu.
The Water’s Edge restaurant, bar and terrace serve food all day until late, so come at a time that suits you. All you need to do is order, relax and drink in the view.
Nick, born in Falmouth, has been cooking since an early age. Having worked with legendary chefs and personalities such as Keith Floyd and Jean Christophe Novelli, he returned to his home town after time working and travelling around the world.
In 2014, he joined The Greenbank as Head Chef, refocusing the menu to highlight Falmouth seafood and Cornish produce. The Greenbank was soon awarded two AA rosettes and the re-opening of the famous Working Boat pub soon followed, which delighted local residents and visitors alike.
Bobby is also born and bred in Falmouth, and proudly flies the Cornish flag. Bobby (as he constantly reminds Nick!) is the younger chef, who took control of the Water’s Edge in 2017. He is a true foodie and has patiently learnt his craft in Cornwall before stepping into the Head Chef’s role. Bobby brings a fresh, vibrant and modern approach to The Greenbank that complements Nick’s classical French experience beautifully.
The kitchen team is made up of fifteen chefs and porters; each individually a vital link in the chain work. Their incredible hard work makes everything that leaves our kitchen the very best.
Please note: On special occasions and for tables of 10 people or more, we require a £10 deposit per person. This is refundable until 48 hours before your visit. Please call 01326 312440 to book.

"A previous haunt of salty sea dogs and weary wanderers, The Greenbank has watched over Falmouth’s historic harbour for almost 400 years. And while its guests are now nomadic weekenders instead of weathered captains, Cornwall’s fleet of fishermen are still honoured in a menu swimming with the latest catch."
"The place to be on a Saturday night in Falmouth. The team are simply the loveliest people. All local, all smiling, all giving you the impression they genuinely love being there — it makes such a difference to the experience."
