pr and marketing assistant

Sister hotels The Greenbank and The Alverton are seeking to appoint a PR and Marketing Assistant. This new role has been created to help provide support and assistance in our busy marketing office based in Falmouth, working alongside our Head of Marketing and Marketing Executive.

Main responsibilities include writing press releases to target local and national media, blogger/influencer outreach, planning and organising press trips, exploring affiliate opportunities with competitions and brand partnerships, plus monthly audits of all websites including The Alverton, The Greenbank and The Working Boat (then reporting back with recommendations.)

Together with our Marketing Executive, other tasks include managing all social media channels, monthly audits of social media channels, writing relevant and inspiring blog content and updating all websites, managing our digital reputation on all website listings and directories, plus exploring advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

Our ideal candidate will be:

  • Grammatically flawless, with fluency and ability with IT and social media
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organised, with an ability to multi-task
  • Motivated, confident and meticulous
  • Analytical mind to analyse data and metrics
  • Experience of using Content Management Systems (WordPress)
  • Understanding of Google Analytics and search engine optimisation
  • Results focused, understanding the importance of measurement and reporting

Head receptionist

Due to ever increasing levels of business, we are seeking a Head Receptionist to be the main point of call for our hotel guests and to liaise with other team members throughout the rest of the hotel. The role has been created to help provide support and assistance to our busy reception manager. From running the reception desk, to liaising with the rest of the hotel and organising our small friendly reception team, the position requires communication and organisational skills of the highest order.

The successful candidate will be able to juggle various pressures to ensure all deadlines are met and no detail is left overlooked. Grammatically flawless, with fluency and ability with IT, experience is essential. What is also essential is a positive attitude and a true empathy and respect for your colleagues and our guests alike. The salary is competitive, and there is also possible monthly bonuses, incentive schemes and training courses can be provided.

Receptionist

We are currently recruiting a receptionist to join our front desk team. The role is full time on a permanent contract 40 hour salary. Our reception works on shift work – mornings, evenings, straights and weekends (no splits.) We are looking for someone ideally with one years’ experience (however full training will be given) – someone who can work on their own with good customer service skills, and who is confident, willing to learn, always happy to help, uses their own initiative and has a ‘can do’ attitude.

Responsibilities include customer service (first point of call for our guests arriving at the hotel and during their stay), room reservations and enquiries, restaurant bookings, dealing with booking agents, handling cash and card transactions, cashing up, balancing reception tills, and booking spa appointments. The role is full time on a permanent contract (40 hour salary.)

head runner

The Water’s Edge restaurant is currently recruiting a head runner to run the pass on a daily basis. You will work closely with the front of house and kitchen teams and you will be the link between both to ensure a smooth running of the service. You will need to have good food knowledge as well as having a charisma and leadership skills. Previous chef experience appreciated but not essential. The role is full time on a permanent contract (40 hour, competitive salary.)

Housekeeper

Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred, although job training will be given. We are looking for somebody who is self-motivated and well presented with a good eye for detail and interpersonal skills. Duties include ensuring that our room standards exceeds our customers’ expectations, completing all allocated bedrooms within the time frame, and working closely with our Head Housekeeper and supervisors. We are looking for somebody to work five days a week, 8.30am until 3/4pm.
