The Best Wine Bars in Falmouth for that Winter Warming Tipple
With The Greenbank Hotel only a few minutes’ walk from the high street, everyone can have an evening of indulgence visiting the best wine bars Falmouth has to offer. And believe us, there is something for everyone. Take a look at our top five wine bars below…
Owners Andy and Freyja set out to create La Cave having been inspired by their many trips to France. Stocking over sixty different types of wine sourced from all over France – be it red, white or rosé – there is bound to be a tipple for you to enjoy. Most of their wines go hand-in-hand with their fantastic French cuisine, creating an enjoyable experience that will make you feel more like you’re in France than Falmouth. Cheese board anyone?
For those looking for a quirky alternative, owners Duncan and Franciska have created not just a bar but a cultural community hub at The Chintz. You can see a range of live acts from bands to comedy nights, poetry readings to political debates, talks from authors, burlesque shows and more – whilst enjoying a glass of wine or two! Inspired by their favourite book Alice in Wonderland, they’ve created that feeling of ‘falling down the rabbit hole’ when you enter the bar, so be prepared to be wowed from every corner as everything is not quite as it seems…
Inspired by the 1920s, Dolly’s Tea Room transforms from a traditional tea room in the day to an often raucous candlelit bar at night serving delicious tapas and wines, with a vast collection of gins. Cocktails are served in unique teapots and poured into vintage teacups whilst the piano is often played with music ranging from Chopin to Frank Sinatra. The perfect place to go to step back in time!
How about heading over to The Brig, where the crew will create cocktail combinations that you didn’t even know existed? A unique basement bar kitted out like an old pirate ship, experience a relaxed and rustic vibe with a drink in hand. We recommend mixing it up a little and trying one of their unique cocktails alongside a hearty sharing platter.
Whether you start your evening or finish the night in our very own Water’s Edge bar, we have plenty to offer when it comes to wine. We have taken our time to source our new drinks menu, including over fifty wines, as well as local vodkas, infused gins and artisan vermouths. Sit back, relax and watch the working boats sail by on the harbour, as you enjoy a large glass of your favourite tipple. Feeling festive? Kick back with a mulled wine for just £4.50 a glass.
