cornwall events – september 2020
If you’re wondering what events Cornwall has to offer in September, we’ve got you covered. Have a read through our monthly round-up on the next 30 days in Kernow…
1ST – 30TH sEPTEMBER: NORTH CORNWALL BOOK FESTIVAL
Where: online virtual event
The North Cornwall Book Festival is going virtual this year! Like many of Cornwall’s events, things are a bit different this year. But the organisers of this popular literary celebration are determined to mark the occasion. Each Friday in September at 5pm the book festival will be releasing short films. Each will give a sneak peek into the authors’ lives and works, who were originally part of the line-up. Filmed from their homes, discover how the pandemic has affected their writing, receive insider tips and enjoy recitals from new pieces.
If you’d like to catch the live show, many of the authors will also be appearing at the 2021 festival.
1st – 30th September: KNEEHIGH WALK WITH ME
Where: various locations in Cornwall
Get walking this September with award-winning theatre company KneeHigh’s fun app. Combining Cornish walks with brilliant stories, download the Walk With Me app for free. Listen to tales inspired by local residents’ knowledge on the history of Cornwall and bring your walks to life. The app uses GPS to trigger different plots and themes when you walk in specific locations. Currently, you can use Walk With Me in St Austell, The Eden Project, Perranporth, Mevagissey, Newquay, Bodmin, Helston and The Great Flat Lode.
The perfect way to keep your step count up and let your imagination run wild. Find out more here.
