A Great Success for The Roaring Great Gatsby Evening
It’s safe to say that The Greenbank team love creating events in Cornwall. Each year, we set out to create an unforgettable immersive experience, with this year’s theme being the roaring 1920s. Mr Jay Gatsby cordially invited our diners to his soirée, where the likes of Daisy Buchanan, Myrtle Wilson and Nick Carraway were also in attendance. Dusting off our dazzling dresses and dashing dinner jackets, we all took a trip back to this famous art-deco era…
Mint juleps were served on arrival, with the bar mixing things up with special themed cocktails. More importantly, once all the party guests arrived, it was time to sit down in the Water’s Edge restaurant and indulge in a four course dinner inspired by the decade.
Created by Head Chef Bobby Southworth, diners tucked into a platter of delights! Deviled eggs, oysters, salmon mousse and Italian hams for starters, followed by baked hams or caprese vegetable skewers for mains. Before finishing with tiramisu, lemon drizzle cake and a fresh fruit platter.
However, a huge gunshot was fired and before our eyes, host Jay Gatsby himself was murdered! It was then up to our diners to solve the murder mystery and identify the killer for the ultimate who-dunnit.
We had a fantastic evening and we hope you all did too. A big thank you to the talented Murder by Appointment for their performance in this Gatsby themed immersive murder mystery experience. Watch this space for our next immersive dining experience to be unveiled soon!
