Nick’s Community Kitchen: Chocolate tiffin recipe
To keep a smile on our followers’ faces and to boost our own morale, we’ve launched a new online series with our Executive Chef Nick Hodges – “Nick’s Community Kitchen”. Today we bring you – Chocolate tiffin recipe
Nick says: “A family favourite in our house, this is a fantastic uncooked chocolate bar full of sweet cupboard leftovers.”
You will need:
- 250g milk chocolate
- 150g butter
- 3 tbsp castor sugar
- 3 tbsp golden syrup
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
And your choice of sweet cupboard leftovers:
- Any broken biscuits (approx 200g)
- Cake/sponge bits (up to 100g)
- Handful of nuts, chopped or whole
- Handful of seeds
- Handful of dried fruit
Getting it done:
- Line a Tupperware container with cling film or lightly butter a mould or tray
- Melt the butter, sugar, syrup and cocoa
- Melt the chocolate
- Stir the raisins, biscuits and sponge bits in the butter mix – fold in fully
- Add the melted chocolate – fold in again
- Pour into your mould
- Refrigerate for two hours
- Portion into individual sweets or cut into bars
