Real Brides in the Riverbank: Rachael and Daniel

We loved the wedding of Rachael and Daniel who tied the knot at the Greenbank! They initially met having been set up on a blind date by close friends, they went out for dinner with their friends in Falmouth and the rest is history!

Daniel proposed on holiday in oh-so-romantic Venice at the Campanile di San Marco looking out over the views of the city.

The couple knew instantly they wanted to get married at the Greenbank because of the beautiful setting and stunning views towards and beyond Flushing. Having enjoyed many a cocktail in the bar on a Friday evening and wanting somewhere they could rely on for superb cuisine, Greenbank was almost a dead-cert but what make it the leading choice were the hotel team and how friendly and welcoming they are. Rachael and Daniel scored us top notch for customer service!

Rachael wore a stunning Fargo by Enzoani dress from Lavender Rose in Penryn. It had intricate lace detailing and flowers down the train, it was sensational and she looked a million dollars!

The food on the day was a selection of fine dining favourites such as smoked salmon, rillette of Cornish duck, slow roast shoulder of lamb and sticky toffee pudding. A pianist played Debussy Claire de Lune during the ceremony and an instrumental version of Happy by Pharrell Williams. They also hired a local guitarist to play during the wedding breakfast.

The most memorable part of the day for Rachael was the speech her father put together which made her mascara run, it was so emotional! The first dance was also a highlight. As Rachael and Daniel aren’t fans of romantic ballads they chose to dance to LMFAO “Sexy and I Know it”. They surprised their guests by emerging from the Greenbank kitchen with cardboard box heads to complete the look!

Following the best day of their lives, Rachael and Daniel toured Hawaii for their honeymoon, visiting Kauai and Maui and spending time in Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, visiting friends in Boston and Vermont – wow, what a honeymoon!

What would be Rachael’s tip for any bride planning her wedding at the Greenbank?

“Take time to stand back and take it all in, especially the beautiful views in the early evening. Also, get to know the staff as they make your day even more special and definitely enjoy a cocktail or two!” What great advice, we love the look of this wedding!
