We’re official sponsors of Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival 2020

Our favourite maritime music festival is returning this June! We are excited to announce that The Greenbank are the newest official sponsors for Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival. Last year we welcomed crowds of shanty fans to our private quay to sing-along to the sounds of the sea in the sunshine. The Sea Shanty Festival welcomes over 65 international groups performing across 25 different venues in Falmouth, from intimate pub settings to open-air stages. Our harbour view stage will be returning, and we’ll be announcing our headline acts soon.

Our role as sponsors this year will be focusing on the sustainability element of the weekend. We’ll be helping to aid improved recycling and better waste management facilities over the weekend. Our Managing Director, Ben Young says: “The Greenbank is delighted to support the festival this year. We hope to enable further recycling and sustainability opportunities throughout the weekend and to further spread our plastic free message far and wide. The town and its activities deserve the full support of the bigger businesses and we all need to demonstrate our commitment through our deeds and not just through our words.”

Beginning on June 12th, the whole town will be celebrating Falmouth’s maritime heritage and history all weekend. Expect music, food and lots of Cornish tipples! Our new Working Boat travelling bar and oven ‘The Horsebox’ will be open for business and serving pints and pizzas on the quay. Last year we welcomed big names including Fisherman’s Friends, The Oggymen and Femmes de la Mer. Find out more about what happened at last year’s Sea Shanty Festival here.

Keep an eye out for this year’s line up at The Greenbank, which we’ll be announcing in due course. We’re just a stone’s throw away from the high street, the perfect location to wander between town and Falmouth’s harbour. A truly Cornish celebration, get Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival 2020 in your diaries. We’ll sea you then!
