The Working Boat will be reopening on 4th July

After three long months lost at sea, The Working Boat will reopen from Saturday 4th July…

Our harbourside pub will be introducing the town’s biggest covered outdoor licensed space, thanks to a large-scale marquee on our private quay.

The Working Boat’s “mar-quay on the sea” will be in-situ throughout the summer months. So you’ll be able to enjoy al fresco dining on the quay whatever the weather. The Greenbank gardens will also have plenty of benches, spaced safely apart to ensure social distancing, for open air drinks, classic pub grub, and pizzas served straight from the oven.

The Working Boat mar-quay will launch on the evening of 4th July for dinner service. 5.30pm until 7.30pm, with a maximum of six people per booking. The pub’s horsebox bar will be open for brews throughout the day from 12pm until late.

With outside public conveniences, outside bar, and full table service, you can be sure everybody will be able to maintain recommended safe distancing, all served with a side of fresh sea air. The Working Boat COVID procedures are in place to ensure we’re back in a safe and secure way.

The pub’s famous Sunday roasts are available every Sunday from 5th July, served from midday. And the much-loved Sunday night pub quiz will recommence at 7.30pm. As ever, the quizzes are free to enter, but optional donations will be going to Hospitality Action, who are helping our embattled colleagues across the country.

From Monday 6th July, the pub mar-quay will be open every day for lunch, dinner and drinks from midday – close.

Managing Director, Ben Young, said: “Our safe haven awaits you. Returning from 4th July with fresh sea air, safe distancing, and our traditional pub atmosphere fully intact, we’re ready to welcome you back on board.”

The marquee has a strictly limited capacity to ensure the safety of both visitors and staff, so bookings are strongly recommended. Please call 01326 314 283 to book. At this point in time, the pub will only be accepting card and contact-less payments. Our full COVID-19 secure statement can be read here.
