What To Do in Cornwall Over The Summer Holidays

Class is dismissed! The school summer holidays are finally here, meaning six weeks of fun awaits. If you’re spending the summer holidays in Cornwall you’ll be spoiled for choice on activities and events throughout the county. 25th july – 4th SEPTEMBER: I SAW A MONSTER, falmouth

Where: 20 minute walk from The Greenbank

Take your little ones along to The National Maritime Museum’s ‘I Saw A Monster’ performance this summer. Each day there’ll be performances of I Saw A Monster, where you’ll be hunting for tentacles on the Museum Trail and creating your very own sea monster puppets in Make & Take. This is a free event included in the general admission to the museum.

ALL SUMMER: PICK YOUR OWN AT TREVASKIS FARM, hayle

Where: 35 minute drive from The Greenbank

Choose from locally grown fruit and vegetables and enjoy a fun family day out picking fresh produce at Trevaskis Farm. With free entry to the farm, you only have to pay for what you pick! From loganberries to gooseberries, apples to beans, peas, raspberries, and not forgetting strawberries,­ you’re spoiled for choice. It’s a great activity to get the kids outdoors and excited about fruit and veg.

21st JULY – 22nd JULY: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, TREBAH GARDEN

Where: 15 minute drive from The Greenbank

Deep in the forest, a troupe of aspiring actors prepare for the most important night of their lives, a command performance before the Duke and Duchess. As the King and Queen of the Fairy Kingdom become entwined with the human world, a night of madness, music and magic ensues…(don’t forget the donkey!). This original production for Summer 2022 features live music, beautiful design and theatrical magic. It promises to delight audiences with Shakespeare’s most celebrated and comic fairy tale. Tickets include entry to the garden from 1pm until the start of the performance.

ALL SUMMER: SUMMER ON ST MICHAEL’S MOUNT, Marazion

Where: 50 minute drive from The Greenbank

Visit the iconic St Michael’s Mount on Marazion’s famous landmark. Celebrate the history of one of Cornwall’s most iconic attractions by heading over by boat and taking in the incredible scenery, however, make sure you check out the tide times before heading over. You might be lucky enough to use the hidden pathway, only uncovered in low tide.

29th JULY – 31st JULY: ROCK OYSTER FESTIVAL, Marazion

Where: 60 minute drive from The Greenbank

This wonderful Cornish festival has announced an A-list line-up of chefs, curated by Cornwall’s own Jack Stein, alongside internationally-recognised music headliners at an unrivaled location on the coast. Rock Oyster Festival has teamed up with chef Jack Stein to bring some of the best chefs in the country to Dinham House, near Rock, for a weekend of cookery demonstrations, food and feasting. 14th august: THE BIG DOGGY DAY OUT SUMMER FETE AT ROYAL CORNWALL SHOWGROUND, WADEBRIDGE

Where: 30 minute drive from The Greenbank
