June in Cornwall is the perfect time to start embracing the outdoors and enjoying the warmer weather. When summer is approaching, there is no place we’d rather be than by the coast. Get your diaries at the ready, as we share our list of unmissable events in Cornwall over the month of June.

31ST MAY – 2ND JUNE: GREAT ESTATE FESTIVAL, scorrier estate, REDRUTH

Where: 25 minute drive from The Greenbank

Deemed the most rambunctious garden fête! Great Estate Festival is back in all its former glory. From major international headline acts, a mix of comedy, theatre, music and the arts to vintage fairgrounds, a woodland silent disco, secret gin garden and burlesque sessions as well as glamping, hot tubs and the Swamp Circus, it is a Cornish festival like no other. Set within the beautiful grounds of Scorrier Estate, this one is a parkland party you don’t want to miss!

1st – 2nd june: TRULY MADLY CORNISH ARTISAN CRAFT FAIR, enys gardens, PENRYN

Where: 15 minute drive from The Greenbank

Celebrate the start of June in the floral surroundings of Enys Gardens, Penryn. This year the craft fair will include over 50 local stalls with a wonderful variety of the best of Cornish crafts. You can watch demonstrations by artists and makers, try your hand at pottery and enjoy performances by Cornish sea shanty singers Rum and Shrub and Hevva dance and music troupe. Kids can take part in a fun pirate treasure trail, face painting and more. Finish the day off with a Cornish cream tea or Kelly’s ice-cream!

6th – 8th june: THE ROYAL CORNWALL SHOW, wadebridge

Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank

The county’s biggest annual diary date is back! The Royal Cornwall Show is an event in June all about showcasing the best of farming and food. This top agricultural show is the perfect day out to immerse yourself in the Cornish heritage. Full to the brim with animals, food stalls, live entertainment, a fun-fair and flower and crop competitions, the historic event dates back as far as 1793. It can get a bit muddy, so wellies are advisable!

14th – 16th june: FALMOUTH INTERNATIONAL SEA SHANTY FESTIVAL, falmouth

Where: The Working Boat Pub (beneath the hotel!) and across town

Join us for a weekend of sea shanties and boat racing. The world-renowned Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival is a weekend full of musical performances in our beautiful town. The Working Boat will be hosting some of the festivities with 16 fantastic performances throughout the three days. One of the biggest events in June for Cornwall, get your front-row seats to see the harbour-side singers and soak up the festival atmosphere with a cold drink from the bar.

15th june: CORNWALL GIN AND PROSECCO FESTIVAL, truro

Where: 25 minute drive from The Greenbank

Calling all gin and prosecco lovers! Truro is hosting the festival for you, with live music, food stalls, a prosecco bar and demonstrations about all things gin. Enjoy a refreshing G&T or a glass of bubbly (or both!) in Cornwall’s capital city.

19th june: THE WATER’S EDGE RUM CLUB: COYABA RUM

Where: right on our doorstep!

For the ultimate rum tasting in Cornwall, look no further than The Greenbank! On Wednesday 19th June from 7pm, we’ll be hosting our Rum Club with the lovely folk from Coyaba Rum. Our first ever Cornish rum tasting event is one not to be missed.

21st – 26th june: NATURAL WELL-BEING WEEK, THE LOST GARDENS OF HELIGAN, st austell

Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank

This June, the Lost Gardens of Heligan are transforming into a tranquil venue for inspirational workshops, activities, talks and sessions with the aim to promote well-being. Relax, restore, and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature by letting all your worries melt away at the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

22nd – 23rd june: ST MERRYN STEAM & VINTAGE RALLY, st merryn

Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank

First held in 1980, the St Merryn Steam & Vintage Rally is a must-see for all vintage motor vehicle enthusiasts. The local rally features many rural exhibits including vintage tractors, steam engines and classic cars. There’s also a variety of trade stands and a car boot sale, alongside authentic Cornish wrestling, performances from local majorette bands and a disco with live music in their  marquee in the evening.

22nd – 23rd june: THE BIG DOGGY DAY OUT SUMMER FESTIVAL, wadebridge

Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank

One of the June events in Cornwall that is fit for your four-legged friends too. Enjoy a weekend of fun with your pooch and take part in activities including have-a-go agility,  fun scurry, temptation alley and fun dog show to name just a few. With over 40 dog service and product exhibitors, workshops and talks, it’s every dog owner’s dream.

23rd june: EDEN SESSIONS 100TH SESSION, eden project, st austell

Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank

The Eden Project biomes are spectacular to visit during the day. However, at night the venue is transformed into a buzzing atmosphere for live music. Eden Sessions are now celebrating their 100th show with a star-studded line up. Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Doves, Dreadzone, Asian Dub Foundation, Bill Jefferson and Backbeat Soundsystem will be taking to the stage at this Cornish landmark.

23rd – 29th june: MEVAGISSEY FEAST WEEK, mevagissey

Where: 1 hour drive from The Greenbank

The Mevagissey Feast Week has been going on since 1752 and is thought to be the oldest ongoing festival in Cornwall. Since then, it has evolved into a wonderful community event, where both locals and visitors are welcomed to join in with the celebrations. The event features exhibitions, demonstrations, live music and lots of fish dishes to eat. The entertainment includes choirs and bands, flora dances, children’s competitions, plus colourful parades, boat and raft races, a fete and a huge firework display.

29th june: ROCK 2 ROCK, WATERGATE BAY, newquay

Where: 50 minute drive from The Greenbank

Where better to get some exercise and fresh air than the gorgeous beach at Watergate Bay? Rock 2 Rock is a sunset beach run and plastic free event to raise awareness for environmental friendly causes. The event combines running with live music, fireworks and food and drink, so whether you are an avid athlete or just want to come and enjoy the atmosphere, it’s a beach party worth checking out.
