The Hotel

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is before 11am.

Please note that the card provided as guarantee at the time of booking will be charged at 12pm seven days prior to your arrival. Please note that if we are unable to take payment on the card provided at that point, we reserve the right to cancel your booking. Guests can cancel free of charge up to midnight seven days from the day of arrival*, at which point the booking becomes non-refundable.

*Third party cancellation policies may differ. Our cancellation policies are different if you have booked a special offer, e.g. a Christmas break or our advance purchase offer.

Yes, you can request for a newspaper to be delivered to your room when checking in at reception, or through contacting our reception team prior to your arrival. Newspapers are delivered from 7:45am until 8.00am.

Breakfast is served in our Water’s Edge restaurant from 7.00am until 10.00am from Monday to Sunday. Breakfast can also be delivered to your bedroom for a supplement of £5. Please speak to reception to find out more.

Our room service menu is available 12.30pm until 9.00pm. We also offer a 24 hour menu which features a limited selection of beverages, light snacks, soups, sandwiches and our cheese board throughout the night.

Cars may be parked in our marked bays in front of the hotel or on our private quay (accessed from the southern end of the hotel). We also have an underground car park. Please be aware that you will need to display a valid pass in your car at all times when parked on the premises. You can receive a pass from our reception. If you would like to have guaranteed premium parking reserved for you close to the hotel entrances, please upgrade to our Captains’ Club at £30 per room per night.

We have a number of room types including classic rooms, superior rooms, deluxe rooms, and two suites (The Lookout and The Florence). We have a range of family rooms and nine dog friendly rooms too. We also have a handful of single rooms – both harbour view and inland rooms.

Room upgrades are subject to availability and prices vary depending on the time of year. If you wish to upgrade your room, please contact our reception prior to arrival.

Booking

If you have not received a booking confirmation, please check your junk folder before contacting our reception team on 01326 312440.

If you booked direct, you can make a change to your booking by emailing us or calling 01326 312440. If you’ve booked via Booking.com etc, you will need to do it through their internal system.

The Riverbank suite seats up to a hundred people, our Water’s Edge restaurant for dinner can seat up to twenty five people and our Sundeck seats up to sixteen people. If you’re looking to book a private event or wedding, please contact our Wedding and Events Manager, Alisha.

Facilities

We now have a limited selection of dog friendly classic rooms at the hotel and welcome well behaved dogs to come and stay. Dogs are also allowed in a number of areas across the hotel, including the captain’s table, the quarter deck, the exterior terrace, and The Working Boat pub. Well behaved dogs are charged at £20 per dog, per night. This includes a blanket, water bowl and food bowl for the night, and some gourmet treats for them to enjoy. Our hotel is partially accessible for wheelchair users. Please note, that we do not have fully accessible rooms due to the nature of our historic building and its limitations. All of our hotel rooms are located on the first floor or above. We have two lifts – one is located by our reception and the second can be accessed via a number of stairs towards the rear of the hotel. We also have an accessible entrance point at the side of our hotel, accessed via an inclined footpath. We would recommend contacting us on 01326 312440  if you have any queries or concerns.

The Greenbank is a family friendly hotel. We have a variety of rooms available to suit families, which include bunk bed and sofa bed options.

We have fridges available in our deluxe and superior rooms. If you wish to request a fridge in your room, please contact our reception team prior to your arrival.

We provide slippers and robes in our deluxe, superior and family suites.

We do not currently offer onsite babysitting services.

Prior to checking in, we can store your luggage.

Safes are available to use in our suites. Guests can also use our hotel safe to deposit any valuables, and a receipt will be provided.

The reception team offers a mailing service but we do not sell stamps. However we can frank your post with the usual stamp price.

Upgrade your stay by joining our Captain’s Club for just £35 and enjoy a range of perks including an early check-in, reserved parking, as well as a complimentary newspaper delivered to your room each morning and room service delivery at no extra cost. Find out more about The Captain’s Club. 

On top of our exclusive club we also offer a range of extras including a bottle of prosecco and a box of Chocolarder chocolates, to your room. Please contact reception prior to your arrival to amend your booking.

We do not currently accept American Express cards. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The Restaurant

We recommend that both residents and non-residents book the Water’s Edge restaurant prior to arrival and to avoid disappointment. For those who have not booked, we will do our best to accommodate you on the day. But due to the current volume of guests, this might not be an option if you have not booked in advance. You can now book for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner by clicking here.

We do not currently take bookings for our bar and terrace area.

Dogs are not allowed in our restaurant and bar. However dogs are welcome on the exterior terrace, our captain’s table (ideal for breakfast time with your dog) and in The Working Boat, our pub downstairs.

Our lunch menu is available from 12.30pm – 3.00pm daily. Our dinner menu is available from 5pm-9.00pm Friday to Saturday and from 5pm-8.30pm Sunday to Thursday. We also serve our Water’s Edge classics menu from 12.30pm until 5.00pm daily.

Our scrumptious afternoon teas are available in the Water’s Edge bar, Sundeck, or on our exterior terrace area. They are served from 12.30pm – 5.00pm on Monday to Saturday, and from 3.00pm until 5.00pm on Sundays.

Our kitchen team can adapt all of our menus to suit dietary requirements. We ask that if you have any dietary requirements, please let us know at the time of booking, or prior to your arrival.

For the Water’s Edge restaurant, bar and lounge, we ask guests to follow our smart casual dress code. Shoes must be worn at all times.

The Working Boat

The pub is located beneath The Greenbank. You can access the pub from the main entrance of the hotel.

The pub is open from 10am until late every day.

There is no need to book for drinks. Our team will try their best to accommodate you.

Yes. Our main menu is available from 12.30pm until 3.30pm then 5.30pm until 8.00pm Monday to Saturday. On Sundays we serve a reduced menu and our famous Sunday roast from 12:00pm-7:00pm. We also host a weekly quiz night on Sunday evenings which is free to enter, but we do have a bucket collection for local charities.

Pontoon

There are a variety of water taxi options available to and from our pontoon. Please see our reception for more information.

We work with Gylly Adventures, who offer both paddle board and kayak hire and lessons from our pontoon. Our guests qualify for 15% discount when quoting GREENBANK on their website or by calling 07341 890495.
